Confidentiality
Sessions are strictly confidential. However if I am seriously concerned for your own safety or for the safety of someone else in your life, I would need to contact others about my concerns. I would aim to do this in discussion with you first.
I have regular supervision where I may bring issues arising from our sessions. This is to help me work more effectively with you. My supervisor is similarly bound by rules of confidentiality and as far as possible, all clinical material will be anonymised.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
In accordance with the GDPR Act (2018) I am obliged to obtain your explicit consent to hold personal data about you. I amy take some notes during our sessions and will write up a brief record of our sessions afterwards. You are free to see any of these. I use a GDPR compliant web package which enables me to hold securely the details of our work together, including emails, invoices and notes. I hold this information for a period of five years after our work has ended as is good practice. After this time, all the information relevant to our work will be deleted.
